Welcome to the dark

I want to formally welcome you. Thank you for logging on and checking out what I have to say. I want to give some background to the name of this blog. "Standing in the dark" I took the name from a platinum Blonde song. Not because the name is cool or that the lyrical content is relevant, but because it comes straight out of the Bible. Yes, you heard it first, the Bible.

"His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles." Psalm 97:4

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14

"The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world." John 1:9

So now that we know we are the light in this world; we need to turn up the flame. Darkness can not consume light, but the smallest of lights can cut through the darkest of places. You may or may not have heard all of this before, either way it's truth. So with that, lets stand together in the dark.
